What a lovely piece of industrial design, feels good on in the hand, not too heavy or light. It's nicely powerful and has great battery life. I got 2, for me and my girlfriend's cars. It's the perfect size to sit in the door storage, right where I can always reach it. The controls for 'full/low/flash' are easier than on the Xl50 too. In summary, pricey but very nice kit.

This is an excellent Torch, I owned the old "lamp type" previously which I had for about 18 + years & this is much better its really bright. I also had a small maglite replaced under warranty so would have no hesitation in recommending.

So far, so good, bright, easy to fit, if it doesn't work immediastely try switching the plug round as the electronics are a particilar polarity. Luckily if you get it wrong it doesn't burn out the unit. Dropped it already and it still works

My original maglite led unit failed after a fall onto a hard stone floor. This upgrade unit was my only way of obtaining a replacement spare. My much used maglite is now restored to working order. Excellent service.

Excellent delivery service, I bought this for night off road running and found the dimmer and focus functions ideal to give the light pattern and brightness required. The rear mounted battery pack is light and well balaced making this comfortable for running. Have not used it long enough to judge battery life, but this will always be a compromise with brightness so the dimmer switch is appreciated. Also useful for a back up when mountain biking, although not bright enough for the main light, but provides hands free light for mechanicals or punctures .

The baby of the big D Cells. Small but powerfull. Iff you got a partner that works nights and feels a bit vunerable when leaveing work to the car park. this is the torch. Fits in a small bag. A blinding light and a means of self defence iff needed.
Batterys. This is not an issue. You get what you pay for. From a professional user of Maglites i recommend Duracell. One must understand battery care . Iff you are a occasional user i recommend you remove the batterys. Remember that once a set of batterys are installed you have created an electrical circuit, and the batterys will degrade thrue discharge.
A nice little useful present for anyone . Attach it to your house or car keys. Well engineered just like its bigger brothers. Its a Maglite.
I keep a range of Maglites. With the 5 D cell iff used constantly for professional use i would recommend purchaseing the auto clamp holders. Its very annoying to have this torch rolling around the van . This is a big torch.
I keep a range of maglites. Been useing these well engineered torchs since 1985. Just replaced one of mine with etorches.co.uk - 3 D cell first class tool for general purpose security/police work. I allways purchase spare lens covers as with alot of use they degrade the light output thru constant use. I recommend the belt holster as the Maglite belongs attached to you, Not on the pavement

when purchasing this product, I needed/wanted a cost effective belt hanger for my 6 D cell Maglite that doesnt call upon the bulb housing to take all the weight, this fits the bill,also the yellow logo looks cool! makers Nite ize take note! there is opportunity here to develop it into a shoulder carrier as well with a rifle type sling which I know the 6 Cell users will find enormously usefull, its a good product.

I have owned my Maglite D 3 cell for more years than I care to remember! Eventually, the rubber switch cover wore through - constant wear & tear. I was pleased that I could obtain a simple replacement and eTorches provided excellent fast service at reasonable cost - thanks

I bought one of these D cell switches from etorches. The staff were really helpful, and ensured that I ordered the correct one for my maglite by checking the torches serial number for me against the switches in stock . Quick and efficient service which meant my maglite was up and running again in only a couple of days.
works perfectly now it is fitted: talk to the etorch guys before you buy, and make sure you quote the full serial number on the torch..... the included instructions may not match the series of C cell maglite you have. Mine had the additional screw locking collar behind the bulb holder, and the old switch assembly needed to be removed from out of the front of the torch tube, rather than out of the back of the torch tube as shown in the instructions. The guys from etorches gave me the right information and prevented me from damaging my C cell maglite. Thanks guys
Nicely made product and speedily dispatched by etorches .... supurb service thank you. The ring will accept both C & D cell maglites: I have both sizes adn will be using both sizes in this belt holder. I have put a drop of super glue on the popper stud though. I prefer to fed the loop of the holder onto my belt rather than using the popper as these can weaken over time, and I don't want even the remotest chance of the popper failing and loosing this holder. and my torch just when possible adverse conditions warrant using them.

I replaced my 12 year old 2 AA cell standard maglite with the new LED 2 AA cell and although I've only had it a couple of days I already love it. The 100% power settting is extremely bright, and the 25% power setting is very convenient; not only does it save battery power and lengthen battery life, it is a good setting to use to reduce the chances of night blindness in totally unlit areas.The 25% power setting is the one I've been using when walking the dog through the woods late at night..

Brilliant, walking the dogs at night is now so easy and they never lose a ball and get all the excersise the need. Tough enough to with stand Coopers jaws and we can find them even in fairly long grass. Dont hesitate guys, buy one today!!!!

I have owned the AAA mini maglite for years, and because (one time only and never again) I used non-duracell batteries and they leaked and welded themselves in place, I broke the switch whilst trying to get them out. New switch for 2.99 delivered, ten minutes work (even without the special assembly tool) and I'm back in business. How wonderful to actually be able to purchase a spare part! Well done.....

Would support everything said above. Dimmer switch on mine is fine (in response to Michael's review). Was worried that the whole assembly (with lamp housing and separate battery pack) would feel a bit cumbersome/heavy, but fears were unfounded.

Nice simple upgrade for a Mini Maglite. The bulb can be installed in seconds for an instantly brighter beam. The tail switch is a nice addition as it allows for one handed operation. All in all, well worth the money!

I bought this torch as a present for someone who wanted a torch that was not too big and it had to be pink! Being a long term Maglite fan this was the way to go. For a small torch it certainly punches above its weight and the recipient is well pleased.

This is the second one I have bought. Not because the 1st one has been damaged but because my dog Kes loves this so much I am worried that if she loses it she would be lost without one - hence the 2nd one on standby. I know the ball costs £13.00 but I really beleive this is well worth the price. It is made of durable rubber and is substantially made. Kes has had hers for 7 months now and it's still going strong. There are cheaper ones around but I have tried 2 others and they were no good at all. Too soft or too hard and just not practical. If you love your dog then this is a real treat for her. It's glow can be seen from the top of the hill when its been thrown to the bottom and it can easily be found on the beach too. To switch the light on I have to use the corner of the wall to activate it cause it is quite firm but occasionally Kes does manage to de-activate the light if she has bitten down on the exact spot where the light switch is. This switch is incorporated within the ball so there is no worry of this hurting the dog in any way. So basically, buy the ball and try it out for yourself. Your dog will love you for it. :0)

I get them for the guys that start working for me so the engraving is useful. They are hard wearing and ive tested that claim. All parts can be replaced separately and the battery life is far better than the non led version.

Great Torch, Upgraded the lamp with an LED upgrade from TerraLUX (TLE-300MR-EX) this turned the torch from a great torch to an awesome torch.

I've bought other brands of luminous collars but these are by far the best. They are not the cheapest but that is reflected in their durability and quality. I would certainly recommend this collar to everyone who wants a good quality item that will last. My dogs run through bushes and roll in mud wearing these and they are very durable.

This is a great product that is built to last. The light is very powerful and can be seen for hundreds of yards (just wish my dog wouldn't run off that far!). Also I find it small enough to stay permanently clipped on so no forgetting to take on the dog walk.

Brilliant torch. I was given one (Blue) by a Medical Supplies Company in 2004 which has been in daily use since then - sadly giving minor problems now so bought another one. Well built and very reliable.

Much brighter than the standard bulb and the battery life is greatly extended. I bought this to replace the 3-LED kit so i could focus the beam, as the 3-LED kit only allows us to switch it on and off. It's slightly less bright as it is a single LED, but this is more than made up for by the fact the beam can be focused.

Absolutely brillient product. I have 3 dogs and every year I normally purchase about 6 different types of reflectors, which break as they have not been robust enough, or don't reflect sufficient light. Spotlits are light and easy to clip on and off their collars. Just a simple press will switch them on and off or pulsing. My dogs run about more with them on as they can see more themselves and I can actually see them from one end of the park to another. All other dog walkers are impressed and have asked where to get them. Highly recommend.

This is a review of 3 parts. Firstly the service and price from all outdoor was excellent. The order was dispatched within hours of placing and the product arrived next working day despite delivery being free. The performance of the torch is also excellent. I use it for mountain biking and am very impressed. True the battery life on full burn will not match a £200 Silva but the brightness is not far off and spare batteries are light, practical and the inconvienice of changing them minimal. The focus and dimmer functions are also quite useful. Finally, the actual light unit is very good quality. My only concern is the battery pack- the dimmer switch on the battery pack is a bit loose and tends to fluctuate when adjusted to minimum. Once at this setting the beam is stable, so this isn't a problem, it just feels a little fragile. I expect this is specific to my torch- other online reviews mention the dimmer being stiff, this would be preferable. Overall an excellent bit of kit at a great price- 9/10, the point only deducted due to the dimmer switch.

Very impressed with the brightness of this headlamp, I bought it specifically for night fishing and infact it shone a long way down the beach and although it states the batteries last 75 hours this must be with the beam turned down to a minimum i used it for 5 hours and needed to replace the batteries but even so this was quite good as I have had quite a few cheaper brands in the past that only lasted an hour with nowhere near the brightness of this headlamp and I had it on full beam the majority of the time, it was comfortable to wear would liked to have tightened it up a bit more but all in all was very comfortable. In summary a very bright headlamp just great for beach fishing I am giving it five stars for what I need it for.

They arrived after 4 days, easily fitted and now working like new. Why bother with the upgrade kits or getting a new torch when it's this easy.....and all for 3 pounds and change. I was seriously worried about the lack of availability of these bulbs, but happy as Larry!! A first rate device to provide totally adequate illumination. As I live in a rural area the portable light emitting diode illumination unit manufactured by MagLite is extremely useful when the normally permanent supply of electricity is unexpectedly temporarily interrupted. A finer piece of light providing equipment I have yet to see.
Good Quality piece of equipment. Feels secure on my belt. A bit of a snug fit for the d cell torches but still fits.
